The military command of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation informed President Vladimir Putin about the retreat of Russian troops against the backdrop of a successful counteroffensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Such a statement was made by the personal spokesman of the head of the Kremlin, Dmytro Peskov, UP reports.
According to him, Vladimir Putin knows about the "regrouping" of Russian troops along several front lines.
Peskov assured that the military command of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation informs the President of Russia about any actions carried out as part of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
"Putin is in constant contact with the Minister of Defense and all military commanders. It cannot be any different here during the SVO," added Putin's press secretary, commenting on the results of the Russian troops from the Kharkiv region.
Dmytro Peskov also refused to comment on the massive missile strike by the Russian Armed Forces on the Kharkiv thermal power plant, which resulted in the absence of electricity and gas supply in some regions of Ukraine. Putin's press secretary recommended that journalists address their questions to the Ministry of Defense, which is responsible for shelling Ukrainian cities.
"My colleague Konashenkov provides all the information on the facts of the missile strikes, on the targets, as well as the results of the missile strikes in briefings. The Ministry of Defense or the Commander-in-Chief himself also provides assessments of the current state of the situation," Peskov continued while talking to journalists.
Separately, the press secretary of the President of Russia raised the issue of a possible renewal of the negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia. According to Peskov, today the Kremlin sees no prospects and prerequisites for organizing a meeting between Volodymyr Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky.
