Ukraine will demand at least $300 billion in reparations from Russia for the damage it caused as a result of the full-scale invasion. The Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denys Malyuska informed about this edition of the Funke media group, Deutsche Welle reports.
"Ukraine wants to collect military reparations from Russia in the amount of at least 300 billion US dollars. At the UN General Assembly, Kyiv wants to achieve the adoption of a resolution that will become the starting stone of the international mechanism for reparation of damages," Malyuska said.
According to him, the damage from the invasion of Russia is estimated much higher. But the sum of $300 billion corresponds to Russia's bank balances in the G7 countries, which were frozen as part of the sanctions. Malyuska demanded access to it, as well as foreign assets of Russian state companies and confiscated property of Russian oligarchs.
"We want to receive compensation for all the damages that Russia has caused to Ukraine with its aggressive war," the minister said.
