The General Staff assessed the threat from Belarus against the background of its exercises regarding the "liberation of territories"

As of today, there is no evidence of Belarus' willingness to participate in the Russian war against Ukraine. The General Staff made such an assessment against the background of the beginning of military exercises of the Belarusian troops regarding the "liberation of captured territories". This was stated by the Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksiy Gromov, during a briefing.

"We are diligently monitoring the situation on our borders, we have information about the willingness or unwillingness of the Belarusian people to participate in Russia's aggressive plans. But the increase in the population that is ready to participate in aggression on the territory of our state is not being monitored," Gromov said.

We will remind you that today in Belarus military exercises on "rehearsing combat operations for the liberation of the territory temporarily occupied by the enemy" started in Belarus. They will continue until September 14.
