British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said during a speech in the House of Commons on Monday that Russia "continues to lose a significant amount of equipment and manpower" in Ukraine and has failed to achieve any strategic objective. This is reported by The Guardian.
"According to estimates, to date, more than 25 thousand Russian soldiers have died, and if we take into account the killed, captured, as well as tens of thousands of deserters - more than 80 thousand along with the wounded," Wallace said.
He added that this "will have a lasting impact on the Russian army and its combat effectiveness in the future."
"Russia has yet to achieve at least one of its strategic goals. And the 194th day of the planned month-long campaign is already underway," the head of the British Ministry of Defense reminded.
Also, Wallace compared Vladimir Putin to a "drug dealer" who "put gas" on European countries, and called for unity on the continent in connection with the onset of winter.
"If we don't stick together, if we don't deal with it now, the threats won't go away by themselves. I'm appealing to people in Prague and Cologne: if you give in to a drug dealer, he'll come back and ask for more in a few years," he added. Wallace.
