For several months, Ukraine has been planning a major offensive to seize large territories in the south of the country, especially around Kherson. At the same time, the Armed Forces will follow a more protracted strategy, pressuring Russia on a wide front, trying to force it to break morale and inflict casualties.
This was stated by Justin Bronk, a senior researcher at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) defense think tank, the BBC reports.
"Over the past month and a half, Russia has managed to transfer significant forces from Donbas to Kherson. But it is not known what the morale of these troops is," he said.
Since the start of the war, there have been various reports of declining strength in the Russian armed forces, but Moscow has repeatedly denied this.
Bronk said he expects Ukraine to continue strikes using HIMARS because, he said, they have been so successful that they have shut down Russian supply lines.
However, Ukraine still needs to be "careful" in the future.
We will remind you that on August 29, the Ukrainian military began fighting for Kherson.
At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine recaptured four villages in the south from Russian occupation.
