Russia is trying to obstruct the IAEA's work on the ZNPP, using Iran's strategy, - ISW

Russia continues to resort to cynical attempts to obstruct the IAEA's work at the Zaporizhzhya NPP. The terrorist state began to implement strategies similar to those used by Iran.

 This was reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

 Analysts note that in this way the occupiers are trying to delay the arrival of International Atomic Energy Agency employees at the ZNPP.

 "The IAEA has assembled a mission consisting of the head Rafael Mariano Grossi and 13 experts from "mostly neutral countries" who will visit the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant next week for observation," ISW writes.

 However, as the Institute for the Study of War points out, the Russian Federation managed to exclude the US and Great Britain from the mission, calling them "unfairly biased".

 "Manipulating the nationality of inspectors and attacking the 'fairness' of IAEA inspections is a tactic that Iran has long used to hide obstacles to missions," the analysts explained.

 ISW also added that, according to Ukrainian official sources, the Russians are torturing ZNPP employees so that they do not tell IAEA inspectors about:

 violation of security at the station;

 because the Russian Federation is trying to limit the presence of Ukrainian employees at the ZNPP,

 because the occupiers began to collect signatures of residents of Energodar with the demand to "stop the Ukrainian shelling" to give to the inspectors.

 It will be recalled that the US State Department called for the creation of a demilitarized zone around the Zaporizhzhya NPP.

 In addition, the US Deputy Secretary of State called on Russia to immediately stop hostilities around the ZNPP.

 After all, they create the risk of a nuclear incident and radiation leak, which can pose a danger not only to Ukraine, but also to neighboring countries.
