Russia is likely increasingly trying to motivate the auxiliary forces it uses to bolster its regular forces in the Donbas.

This is stated in the daily report of British intelligence, published on Twitter by the Ministry of Defense of the country.

"Commanders are likely to resort to direct material incentives, while some combat units are considered unfavorable for offensive operations," the report said.

The problem is compounded by Russia's classification of the war as a "special military operation," which limits the state's powers of legal coercion, it said.

It is also noted that on August 22, Ukrainian social networks distributed a video in which, as reported, servicemen of the so-called LPR declare their refusal to deploy as part of offensive operations in Donetsk region.

They have stated that they have fulfilled their obligation to ensure control of the entire Lugansk region, which was obtained in July 2022, and do not want to fight in Donetsk region, despite threats and intimidation from the high command.

Intelligence previously reported that a large part of the Russian military considers it impractical to continue deploying forces to participate in military parades in peacetime, while Russian forces are suffering heavy losses in Ukraine.
