Encouraging Russia. Foreign Ministry disappointed with the seizure of a Syrian ship with stolen grain

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reacted to the Tripoli (Lebanon) court's decision to lift the arrest of the Syrian ship Laodecia, which was carrying stolen Russian grain, saying that it was disappointed with the move.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the relevant statement of the ministry.

"Despite the evidence provided, the court did not take into account the position of the competent authorities of Ukraine," the statement said.

The Foreign Ministry added that Ukraine has always made efforts to maintain food security in Lebanon, taking first place among the exporters of agricultural products to this country at the end of 2021.

"Ukrainian food supplies did not stop even after the beginning of Russia's full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine. After the opening of the Ukrainian Black Sea ports, the first grain carrier left Odessa for Lebanon," the ministry recalled. - In addition, by such a decision, Lebanon actually undermines its own food security, pushing away Ukraine as its reliable partner".

Recall, Lebanon arrested the vessel Laodecia. It is planned to keep it under arrest for the period of investigation of the cargo origin.

Later, Lebanon confirmed that the Syrian vessel Laodecia was carrying barley and flour stolen in Ukraine.
