The Pentagon has denied Russian claims that Russian forces destroyed six of the HIMARS missile systems handed over to Ukraine.
According to Reuters, Pentagon spokesman Todd Bressil said this.
"We are aware of these recent statements by Russian Defense Minister Shoigu, and once again they are blatantly untrue," the spokesman said.
He added that the Ukrainian military uses the transferred HIMARS "with astonishing accuracy and effectiveness."
The Russian Federation also claimed the alleged destruction of five launchers for anti-ship Harpoon missiles and three dozen M777 howitzers as a result of Russian strikes.
As a reminder, on August 1, Ukraine's defense minister announced the arrival of four more HIMARS. Also that day, the United States announced a new aid package for Ukraine, including 75,000 155 mm shells and "additional shells" for HIMARS systems.
