The UK will soon hand over several warships to Ukraine. The Ukrainian military is already undergoing relevant exercises on them.
This was reported by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Britain Vadima Pristayko in an interview to "Suspilniy".
"Our sailors are already being trained on it. They run the ship, they run the weapons. There will be several such ships", - told Pristayko.
He noted that after the start of a full-scale war in Ukraine, Turkey completely closed the straits in the Black Sea to warships.
"Our priorities have shifted. We now need mine-resistant ships. Two (ships - ed.) is the initial number we are working with now. These are warships that are in service with Her Majesty's Navy," the Ukrainian ambassador added.
According to Pristayko, the ships will be specially trained and equipped with special weapons and equipment that Ukraine needs.
"But it's not just two ships. They have more of the same class. And our officers and sailors are now being trained on the available ships," the ambassador concluded.
As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expects that the level of cooperation between Kyiv and London will not change after the election of a new head of the British government.
Finance Minister Rishi Sunak and Foreign Secretary Liz Truss will compete for the premiership in Britain.
