The General Staff of the AFU reported that Russian troops deliberately shelled a colony in temporarily occupied Olenivka, Donetsk region, where Ukrainian prisoners were held.
"The armed forces of the Russian Federation carried out a targeted deliberate artillery shelling of a correctional facility in the locality of Olenivka, Donetsk region, where Ukrainian prisoners were held, among others," the message reads.
According to the General Staff, the Russian occupants thus wanted to accuse Ukraine of committing "war crimes," as well as to cover up the torture of prisoners and shootings, which were carried out there on the orders of the occupation administration and the Russian military command in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk Region.
The consequences of the shelling are being clarified.
