EOCU asks Ecumenical Patriarch to deprive Kyrill of the throne

The Synod of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine has appealed to Ecumenical Patriarch Archbishop Bartholomew of Constantinople and urged him to strip the head of Moscow Patriarch Kirill of his throne.

This was reported by the press service of the church.

The Synod sent a special letter in which Metropolitan Epiphanius, head of the PCU, urged Patriarch Bartholomew to condemn the doctrine of the "Russian world." He asked that it be recognized as heretical and that Kirill be deprived of the throne.

"It is important to understand that the ideology of the modern Russian Orthodox Church contains a threat not only to Ukraine, but to the entire Orthodox world... We urge Your Holiness and the Primates of the Local Orthodox Churches to consider the activities of Patriarch Kirill as soon as possible," the statement said.

According to him, moral responsibility for the crimes committed lies not only on the Russian military, but also on their mentors.

Epiphanius believes that "the denial of freedom of entire peoples is combined in the worldview of Patriarch Kirill and his associates with a racist theory in its spirit."

Recall that a number of countries imposed sanctions against Russian Patriarch Kirill, in particular Great Britain and Canada.

Lithuania also banned the head of the Moscow Patriarchate from entering the country for supporting the war.
