At least 1,041 children have suffered as a result of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Office of the Prosecutor General said.
"More than 1,041 children were affected in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation in our state. As of the morning of July 22, 2022, the official number of child victims for the day has not changed - 358. The number of wounded has increased - more than 683," the report says.
Children suffered the most in the Donetsk region - 361, Kharkiv region - 194, Kyiv region - 116, Chernihiv region - 68, Lugansk region - 61, Mykolayiv region - 53, Kherson region - 54, Zaporizhzhia region - 40.
These numbers are not final, as work is under way to identify them in places of active combat operations, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
Thus, it became known about two more boys aged 13 and 14 years old who were wounded as a result of the enemy's shelling of the town of Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region on July 20.
Due to the bombing and shelling by the armed forces of the Russian Federation, it is reported that 2,188 educational institutions were damaged. Of these, 221 were completely destroyed.
