The competition commission for the election of the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has determined the winner. It was NABU detective Oleksandr Klymenko, reports UNN.
The Commission should make a presentation to the Office of the Prosecutor General of the appointment of Klymenko as the new head of the SAP.
Also, the commission identified the winner for the position of first deputy head of the SAP - Prosecutor of the Office of the Prosecutor General Andriy Sinyuk.
In addition, the members of the commission voted for the submission to the Prosecutor General within three working days after the commission received confirmation of compliance with the law of Ukraine on the purification of power, on the prevention of corruption, as well as on obtaining clearance for state secrets Klymenko Alexander candidacy for the administrative position of deputy prosecutor general, the head of the SAP.
NABU detective Oleksandr Klymenko won the contest back in December 2021, but the results were not approved.
We shall remind you that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on 17 July to appoint the winner of the competition as the head of the SAP.
In October 2021, Zelenskyy said that the competition for the position of the head of the SAP will end this year.
In September 2020, the Verkhovna Rada supported the draft resolution #4104 on the determination of representatives of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the commission for the competition for administrative positions in the SAP.
After that, international diplomats said that the commission should start a transparent process, based on the integrity and merits of the candidates. Further EU and U.S. support will depend on it.
On October 13, 2020, the first meeting of the commission for holding a competition for administrative positions in the SAP was held. Thus, the meeting began with the members of the commission arguing for more than an hour about the participation of one of its elected members in the work of the commission.
