The Verkhovna Rada at a meeting on 18 July dismissed Maryna Lazebnya from the post of Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine. According to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, 277 MPs voted for such a decision. The MP noted that the appointment of a new minister will take place soon, but not today. At the same time, he added that Oksana Zholnovych will become the new minister.
Lazebnaya headed the ministry in March 2020, becoming part of Denis Shmygal's team after the resignation of the government of Alexei Goncharuk. As Zheleznyak noted, only 27.2% or 6 of 22 ministers remain in the Cabinet from the initial composition of the Government in 2020.
Before that, Lazebnaya had been in charge of the State Social Service since August 2019. Previously she worked in the Ministry of Social Policy (Department of Labor and Employment), headed the State Employment Service until its liquidation in 2014.
We shall remind you that on 17 July, President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed the Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova and dismissed the head of the SBU Ivan Bakanov, reports Delo.
