The number of children injured as a result of Russian aggression has increased

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, more than 1,019 children have been injured. Of these, 353 children have been killed and another 666 have been injured.

This is reported by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General.

Thus, on July 17, as a result of the occupants' shelling of the village of Novy Donbass in the Pokrovsky district, a 16-year-old boy was wounded.

Also yesterday, the occupants once again shelled Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. Three children aged 2, 3 and 9 were wounded to varying degrees of severity.

It is noted that since the beginning of the war the most children have been injured in:

Donetsk region - 373;

Kharkiv region - 191;

Kyiv region - 116;

Chernihiv region - 68;

Lugansk - 61;

Mykolaivska - 53;

Kherson oblast - 52;

Zaporizhzhia - 31.

"These figures are not final, as work is underway to establish them in places of active combat operations, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories," the UCP said in a statement.

In addition, they said that because of the bombing and shelling by the Russian armed forces in Ukraine today 2,138 educational institutions have been damaged. Of these, 221 have been completely destroyed.
