Summonses for men liable for military service can be served on the street and in other public places. This does not contradict the law. This is reported by the command of the Ground Forces of the AFU.
According to the head of the personnel department of the headquarters Roman Gorbach, the presentation of the summons does not mean mobilization or urgent conscription.
"In 90% of cases it is not at all. This summons is first of all handed out for the citizen to come to the territorial recruitment center, and the head of this center can clarify his military registration data, state of health. Then, if he meets all the qualities, he may be called up for service in the army," explained Gorbach.
He also stressed that the summonses can be handed out in the streets and other public places, where it is not prohibited by law. The places are chosen by the heads of recruitment centers in order to quickly check the information about the number of persons liable for military service.
"Going through residential neighborhoods where intercoms are installed, or through private settlements where the gates are high, and knocking on the door where no one opens - the efficiency will be very low," said the chief of staff.
Besides, Gorbach added that not only heads of centers or military registration and enlistment offices, but also heads of territorial communities and other officials can sign summonses.
