U.S. supports Canada's decision on turbine for Nord Stream 1

The United States supported Canada's decision to return to Germany a repaired turbine needed for the Nord Stream-1 pipeline. This was announced on Monday by State Department spokesman Ned Price, writes UP.

"In the short term, the turbine will allow Germany and other European countries to replenish their gas supplies, increasing their energy security and resilience and countering Russia's efforts to turn energy into weapons," Ned Price said.

He added that the U.S. is working with allies and partners to reduce collective dependence on Russian energy and to keep pressure on President Putin.

Price assured that the United States, allies, and partners are committed to supporting Ukraine and ensuring that the Russian government feels the worsening effects of economic restrictions and harsh sanctions.
