Russia cuts gas supplies by Nord Stream 1 to 20% of capacity

Russia's Gazprom on Wednesday halved the volume of natural gas flowing through its Nord Stream 1 pipeline from Russia to Europe to 20 percent of its capacity.

Data on Nord Stream's website and the head of Germany's network regulator, Klaus Müller, confirmed the cut.

"Gas is now part of Russian foreign policy and possibly Russian military strategy," Müller told Deutschlandfunk radio.
