Businessman Rinat Akhmetov announced the withdrawal of his investment company SCM from the media business and the transfer of all its media licenses to the state in connection with the entry into force of the anti-oligarch law.
"I have made the forced decision to exit my investment company SCM from the media business. This week Media Group Ukraine will give up in favor of the state all on-air and satellite television licenses of our channels and our print media licenses in Ukraine. We will also terminate the activities of online media MSU," Akhmetov said in a statement about Media Group Ukraine's assets made public on Monday.
"Media Group Ukraine" combines the national terrestrial TV channel "Ukraine," the nationwide news TV channel "Ukraine 24," the entertainment youth TV channel "UFO TV"; thematic channels "Indigo TV," TV channels "Football 1/2/3"; regional TV channels "Donbass," "34 TV channel," "Sigma" Satellite television operator Xtra TV; international channels Ukraine 1/ Ukriane 2, NLO TV 1/ NLO TV 2; production companies Tele Pro, Dopomozhemo TV; a full-cycle media agency Media Partnership Baining; Ukraine news group, Ukraine multimedia platform - Segodnya TV news and segodnya.ua; cross-platform project Vogue UA and OTT-platform OLL.TV.
The media holding is owned by Rinat Akhmetov's System Capital Management group.
