Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his column "The World Ahead 2022" that he considers the beginning of the anti-oligarch law to be one of the most important events of the coming year, Novoe Vremya reports.
"In May 2022 there will be the clearest possible red line - for those who believe since the 1990s that the state is their personal property. The anti-oligarchy law will begin to take effect. This is the most powerful step for the de-penalization of economic and political relations in Ukraine," emphasized Volodymyr Zelensky.
In his column, Zelensky threatened the oligarchs that he "will not forgive" them "conspiracies and schemes."
"This step has already been taken, and you can't win it back, no matter what Mr. Oligarchs try to do. You can unite in business, but no one will forgive you any more conspiracies and schemes to "merge" the state. And you will no longer be able to buy politicians in order to extract economic privileges. The law is the same for all", said the President, who recently told about the preparation of a coup d'etat by the people close to the wealthiest Ukrainian tycoon Rinat Akhmetov.
Other key events and tasks for 2022 Zelensky called the continuation of the vaccination campaign, as well as judicial and infrastructure reforms.
"No man can or should tolerate fatigue for long. It is a path to burnout, discouragement and loss of hope. Therefore, it is incumbent upon the state to offer solutions that can keep society from feeling this way. From this point of view the year 2022 is crucial for Ukraine. <...> Only a full course of vaccination for the absolute majority of people will be a prerequisite to forget about quarantine", - said the head of state.
