The German government has received a positive response from Canada to a request to unblock the supply of a Siemens turbine for Russia's Gazprom's Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline. This was reported by Reuters.

A source in the German government has confirmed to the news agency that Canada has already decided to return the turbine. It will be handed over to Germany, and it will give it to "Gazprom" so that Ottawa has not violated its own sanctions.

Commenting on the situation with the possible return of the turbine, the Kremlin said it would increase the gas supplies to Germany, which the day before admitted the impossibility to fill their underground storage tanks on time.

As it was reported earlier, the Canadian government is going to approve the decision on exemption from the sanctions regime for the supply of turbines for the Nord Stream gas pipeline, which will create a precedent for point-by-point lifting of the embargo at the request of the aggressor state, as agreed with Germany.

The Ukrainian government is already aware of Canada's intentions to agree to such a point-by-point lifting of sanctions restrictions on Russia and considers this decision "unreasonable and dangerous for the sanctions regime.
