Kuleba explained the importance of the Pope's visit to Ukraine

The visit of Pope Francis to Ukraine would support Ukrainian believers and help resolve certain humanitarian issues.

This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Kuleba in the ephemera of the telethon.

"First, the Pope has millions of believers in Ukraine. I am convinced that this would be a strong moment of inspiration and support from the Pope for Ukrainians who bear the burden of war on their shoulders," he said.

Second, according to the minister, the Pope retains a major role as a peacemaker in international politics.

Kuleba believes that if the Pope visited Ukraine, he would better understand the causes of this war and see the suffering with his own eyes. The head of the Foreign Ministry noted that this would make it possible to find additional ways to involve the Pope in stopping the war or solving certain humanitarian issues.

At the same time, the foreign minister added that the Pope's visit to Ukraine depends solely on the pontiff's decision.

As a reminder, in July, the Pope is going on a visit to Canada. After that, he may come to Ukraine and Russia.

Previously, the pontiff said that he intended to visit Ukraine on a working visit, but this should happen at an appropriate time.
