The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) suggests that Russian occupants may seize the town of Lysychansk in the coming days.
"Russian troops continued to advance north toward Lysychansk along the western bank of the Seversky Donets River and made significant gains south of Lysychansk on June 22," the report said.
The occupiers also launched an air strike on Verkhnekamenka, which is within 10 kilometers of Lysychansk, probably to impede Ukrainian movement toward Lysychansk.
"Russian forces will likely continue to regroup and increase the intensity of the operation in the area between Bakhmut and Lysychansk in order to move toward Lysychansk with an additional axis, break Ukrainian supply lines and try to consolidate control over the entire area of Severodonetsk and Lysychansk in the coming days," ISW informs.
