Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that he will attend the NATO summit in late June.
This was stated by the head of state on Twitter.
"With gratitude accepted the invitation of partners to participate in key international events: from the Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz - in the summit of the G7, and from the Secretary General of NATO - in the NATO summit in Madrid," - said Zelensky.
He did not specify in what format he would participate in the event.
On Wednesday, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg confirmed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be welcome at the NATO summit in the format in which he can participate, given the circumstances.
It is known that NATO leaders at the summit in Madrid have to agree a comprehensive package of assistance for Ukraine.
The NATO summit will be held in Madrid on June 29-30. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba admitted that he did not expect positive decisions for Ukraine.
