The victims of the Russian invasion of Ukraine were 288 children

288 children died as a result of Russian armed aggression in Ukraine, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported.

"As of the morning of June 13, 2022, more than 815 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of full-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation. According to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 288 children were killed and more than 527 injured," the report said.

Children were most affected in the Donetsk region - 218, Kharkiv region - 166, Kyiv region - 116, Chernihiv region - 68, Lugansk region - 54, Kherson region - 52, Mykolaiv region - 48, Zaporizhzhia region - 30, Sumy region - 17.

These figures are not final, as work is under way to establish them in places of active combat operations, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

Thus, on June 12, a 6-year-old boy died as a result of artillery shelling of Lysychansk, Luhansk region, by the Russian Federation military.

On June 11, a 12-year-old girl was injured due to shelling of Chortkov in Ternopil region.

During the recording of criminal offenses, it became known that on March 20, an 8-year-old boy was injured as a result of shelling of the city of Mariupol in Donetsk region.

It also became known about injuries as a result of shelling of 17 more children in Kharkiv region. In particular, on May 20, the village of Vyshiye Khutory of Kupyansk district of Kharkiv region was shelled, a 13-year-old girl was wounded. May 14 - shelling of the village of Lebyazhye in Chuguev district of Kharkiv region, two children aged 7 and 15 were wounded. The shelling of the village of Krasnaya Polyana in Izyum district of Kharkiv region brought an 11-year-old boy to a medical facility with wounds.

Due to the bombing and shelling by the Russian Armed Forces, 1,971 educational institutions were reportedly damaged. Of these, 194 were completely destroyed.
