Representatives of Ukraine are negotiating cooperation with the world's best universities. This information was confirmed in an interview by the Chairman of the VR Committee on Education and Science Sergey Babak.
"We have never talked about it out loud, but we continue to work on it. We have been negotiating with Cambridge for two months now. It makes no sense to talk about it "before," but we are working with the world's top universities. And they are ready to help us," Babak said when asked about the possibility of opening representative offices of Oxford or Cambridge universities in Ukraine.
However, as noted by the MP, it is not possible to say yet in what form the cooperation will be implemented.
"Talks with them about this are going on. In what form it will be - we can not say. It is clear that until the fighting is over, this will not translate into any practical steps. But believe me, I am the one who is in communication with Cambridge, and they are very willing to help us. They are willing to open up to our students for free something that the whole world pays a lot of money for," Babak said.
When asked whether the leading universities are ready to implement educational programs in Ukraine, Babak said: "I think they will be".
Babak also said that within the framework of the National Council for Recovery of Ukraine from the Consequences of War initiated by the President, a recovery plan for the sphere of education is being developed, where cooperation with world's leading universities will be one of the points.
