The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights reports in a new summary that at least 4,253 civilians have been killed in Ukraine since February 24.
According to the UN, 272 children were among the dead and 5,141 were wounded.
In the territories under the control of the self-proclaimed DNR and LNR, according to UN estimates, 152 people died. The remaining 4,001 people are in territories under Ukrainian control.
The UN emphasizes in each report that in fact there are likely to be many more civilian casualties, as the data is extremely incomplete because access to Russian-occupied territories is limited, and the UN has no exact data on how many civilians died, for example, in Mariupol.
