Ukraine is not yet considering any alternative to joining the EU. And the arrangements with the UK on the defense alliance are activities that are carried out for security purposes. About this at a meeting with journalists said President Volodymyr Zelensky, writes UNN.
"There is no alternative to our membership in the EU, our candidacy to the EU. And no one offered it to us, and if they did, we would not agree," said the head of state.
He explained that the agreement with the UK on a defence alliance is a step to guarantee Ukraine's security. But in no way an alternative to the EU.
"And talks with Britain about a defense alliance are part of the overall process of providing Ukraine with security guarantees," Zelensky said.
