Turkey has decided to donate the Bayraktar medium-range tactical attack drone to Ukraine free of charge. Lithuania raised funds for it.
Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anušauskas announced this on Twitter.
"It's unbelievable, but Turkey just agreed to give the Bayraktar, for which Lithuania raised money, for free. This is amazing!" he wrote.
According to him, the money raised will be used to buy ammunition for the "Bayraktar" and the rest of the money will also go to support Ukraine.
Recall that the fundraising for the purchase of Turkish-made combat drones "Bairaktar" for Ukraine in Lithuania started on May 25.
Over three days, Lithuanian citizens collected 5m euros to buy the drone.
