During the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, more than 234,000 Ukrainian children were forcibly removed there. This statistic was reported at a briefing by Daria Gerasymchuk, Ukrainian presidential advisor for children's rights and rehabilitation.

Also, she said, as of 8 a.m. on June 1, 243 children were killed and 446 children were injured as a result of full-scale aggression by the Russian Federation.

"Of course, these figures are not final, as we do not know what is happening in the temporarily occupied territories, and the number of children affected could be many times higher. In addition, as a result of the war, children suffer from forced displacement and deportation. It is already known that more than 234,000 children have crossed the Russian border from both the Ukrainian and ODLR sides," Gerasimchuk added.

In addition, she noted that during the war children without families need support from adults, so the state is working to simplify the guardianship procedure.

"By a governmental decision of March 17, a coordinating staff for protection of children's rights was created. We simplified the guardianship procedure for relatives and relatives, and a form of temporary placement of children is actively used. This is exactly the kind of help that adults could provide to children during the war. In the chat-bot in Telegram, created at my initiative during the first week of the war, we received over 20 thousand appeals from Ukrainian families concerning temporary placement of a child in their families. More than 5 thousand questionnaires have been received after reading the detailed information about the form for temporary placement. Have passed a training webinar, that is preparing for the reception of children, more than 3 thousand people", - said Gerasimchuk.

Also according to the National Police, as a result of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine 139 children are still wanted.
