The Tolyatti-Odesa ammonia pipeline was damaged in the Bakhmut region as a result of the hostilities on Monday, the head of the Donetsk RSA Pavel Kirilenko said.
"In the Bakhmutsky district as a result of military operations the tightness of the branch of the ammonia pipeline "Togliatti - Odesa" was damaged. This branch has not been used since 2014, the latches are closed, but ammonia is now flowing out of it by gravity. The cloud of ammonia moves over the soil from the village of Mayskoye in the direction of Bakhmut," Kirillenko wrote on Facebook.
According to him, Bakhmut, Gladosovo, Dacha, Nikolaevka Vtoraya, Odradovka and Opytnoye can get into the affected area.
"Local authorities have notified the population about the necessary safety measures. Rescuers are already ready to eliminate the consequences of the accident. There is no information about casualties and fatalities yet," summarized the head of the RSA.
