The number of children killed as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine has reached 240, the Office of the Prosecutor General said.

"As of the morning of May 26, 2022, more than 676 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the official information of the juvenile prosecutors, 240 children were killed and more than 436 injured," the report said.

It is indicated that the most affected children were in the Donetsk region - 151, Kyiv region - 116, Kharkiv region - 105, Chernihiv region - 68, Lugansk region - 50, Kherson region - 49, Mykolaiv region - 45, Zaporizhzhia region - 28, Sumy region - 17, in Kiv - 16, Zhitomyr region - 15.
