Zelensky about the defenders of Mariupol: three countries are working on their release

Third countries are working on the release of the defender of Mariupol from the besieged Azovstal plant. In particular, Israel, Turkey, and Switzerland.

This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview for Rai 1.

"We must not stop, we must fight for every person. We took the civilians from the factory, now there is a question about the wounded and the living. And to be honest, we don't want to leave people killed there, because their families are waiting for them... We passed information to Russia, we even applied the mechanism of involving a third country. Both Israel, Switzerland and Turkey are working on this today," he said.

He added that he raises these issues in talks with other leaders of other countries to raise them with Russian President Vladimir Putin. At the same time, the Ukrainian side is ready to exchange wounded defenders of Mariupol for Russian prisoners.

We recall that earlier it was reported that Turkey offered Russia to evacuate Azov fighters from Mariupol to its territory. Ankara was ready to guarantee that these Ukrainian servicemen would no longer take part in the defense of Ukraine.

Ukraine is also seeking an "extraction" procedure to a third country for the Mariupol defenders.
