Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is personally ready to meet and talk with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin. In particular, without pro-Kremlin mediators and on terms of dialogue, not ultimatums.
The head of state said this in an interview with the Italian TV channel Rai 1.
"As for the negotiations with the Russian Federation, the issue becomes more complicated every day. I personally think so, because every day small towns are de-occupied and we see traces of mockery, torture, shootings left by the Russian military. And that is why the moment about the possibility of negotiations becomes more difficult," Zelensky said.
According to him, Ukrainian society has wanted to talk to Russia for all 8 years.
"Now the society is not positively disposed to it. I, as president, am ready to talk to Putin, but only with him, without his mediators and on the terms of dialogue, not ultimatums," Zelensky stressed.
As a reminder, the president recently noted that Ukraine may completely stop negotiations with Russia. The reason for this will be the killing of captured civilians and military.
At the same time, Russian President Putin said that the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are allegedly in a stalemate.
In addition, Zelensky stated that the desire to hold any negotiations with the Russian Federation disappears with every city where cases of atrocities committed by Russian occupants are recorded.
