Russia's war against Ukraine is unlikely to last for several more years. Most likely, it will drag on for a few more months.
This was said by military expert Oleg Zhdanov in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
"I will say this: it is a war for months, but not for years. Why? Because, first of all, no matter how hard Russia is pushing, it was not preparing for a long-term war. Its economy is stagnant today because of the sanctions," Zhdanov said.
According to the expert, Russia should have put its economy on a military footing for a protracted war a year ago. Secondly, Western partners began supplying weapons and other assistance to Ukraine.
"I don't think they are ready to go to war for two or three years with Russia. They are waiting to invest in Ukraine for super profits in connection with the reconstruction and development of our economy," the expert noted.
