With the approach of the Day of Victory over Nazism in World War II, which is celebrated on May 9, a number of regions decided to strengthen security measures. In particular, it was decided to tighten the curfew.

Recommendations of central authorities

According to Viktor Andrusiv, adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs, it is necessary to be extremely careful and avoid crowds in these days. According to him, curfew issues are the responsibility of local authorities. However, the introduction of a protracted curfew wherever possible is recommended.

Kyiv

On May 8 and 9 in Kyiv curfew time will not change.

"We do not plan to change and introduce any restrictions. As always, curfew in Kyiv from 22:00 to 05:00. The same situation will be on May 8 and 9," said Mayor Vitaly Klitschko. He also added that on May 9 there will be no events in the capital.

Rivne region

In Rivne region, curfew time will be changed from May 10. It will be relaxed. Restrictions will be in effect from 23:00 to 05:00. At the same time, the sale of alcohol was extended until 21:00 today.

Poltava region

Poltava region has decided to toughen curfew on May 7, 8 and 9. The curfew will be in force from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on those days.

Odesa region

Odesa and the region are going to have a protracted curfew. It will last from 22:00 on Sunday, May 8, until 05:00 on Tuesday morning, May 10. During this period, it is forbidden to be on the streets and other public places without specially issued passes and IDs.

Zaporizhzhia

Zaporizhzhia City Council also introduces a prolonged curfew. It will be in effect from 19:00 on May 8 to 05:00 on May 10. During this time, it will only be allowed to leave the house for shelters in case of an alarm.

Lviv region

No mass events are planned for May 7-9 in the Lviv region. Curfew remains from 23:00 to 05:00.

Mayor of Lviv Andrei Sadovoy said that there is no need to tighten security measures, but city residents need to take care of their food security and plant gardens.

Kriviy Rig

According to intelligence, Russian provocations are being prepared on May 8 and 9 and shelling is possible. Therefore, no festive, solemn and mass events will be held. A 24-hour curfew will not be imposed, either.
Ivano-Frankivsk.

There were no announcements about the change of curfew time, but city residents are urged to go out of town on May 7,8 and 9 if possible.

"So that fewer people would be in Ivano-Frankivsk. There is certain information, the enemy, unfortunately, wants to continue to hit with missile strikes, so on the 7th, 8th and 9th there will not be any public event," said Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv.
