Zaluzhnyi: The counterattack by the AFU in the Kharkiv and Izyum directions has begun

The Ukrainian Armed Forces began to attack the Kharkiv and Izyum directions. This became known according to the AFU Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhnyi during a conversation with the head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley.

"Traditionally informed his American colleague about the operational situation. In particular, about the movement of the main efforts of the enemy to the Luhansk direction, where fierce fighting continues in the area of Popasna, Kremenna and Torsky, as well as the transition of Ukrainian defense forces to the counteroffensive actions in the Kharkiv and Izyum directions," reports the Commander-in-Chief of the AFU.

Zaluzhnyi, in addition, told about the use of cruise missiles by the enemy.

"The main purpose of these actions is to destroy the logistical ways of supplying military and technical assistance to Ukraine. Thus, during the day on May 3, the enemy used 14 cruise missiles, which were fired from strategic bombers TU-160 from the Caspian Sea. As of midnight of the previous day, eight cruise missile launches on our territory were recorded. Therefore, the issue of providing Ukraine with M142 HIMARS and M270 MLRS multiple-launch rocket systems is very urgent," the commander noted.
