Evacuated citizens from Mariupol have started arriving in Zaporizhzhia Region. This was reported by the military law enforcement service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the service, there are more than 100 people evacuated from the Azovstal plant in Mariupol.
All the evacuees receive everything they need - hot meals, medicines and food. Medics are examining the victims. People are provided with psychological assistance.
At the same time, "Public" with reference to information from the Zaporizhzhia RSA reports that residents of Mariupol began to arrive in Zaporizhzhia in their own vehicles. People who were evacuated from Azovstal are expected in the regional center in a few hours.
In two days, the Ukrainian side evacuated more than a hundred women, children and the elderly from the territory of Azovstal Iron and Steel Works.
The head of the "Servant of the People" faction and head of the Ukrainian negotiating team from Russia, David Arahamiya, said that the evacuation of people from Azovstal was only the first part of a "special operation," which would result in the removal of all people from the plant.
On the morning of May 2, the evacuation from Mariupol was to continue. With the support of the UN and the Red Cross, two additional locations were agreed for people to board the evacuation convoy that would leave Mariupol. These were the village of Mangush and the Lunacharskoye Ring near Berdyansk.
