Russia has blocked Ukrainian exports to create a global food crisis. This opinion was expressed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with the Australian TV channel Nine Network
"Today all the ports are blocked, the sea route is blocked, blocked for the export of our food products, in general the food industry, in general our metallurgy. These are not just risks, they've already passed. Today it will be a great tragedy for the security of Europe, Asia, Africa. Where Ukraine has always been a guaranteed reliable partner", Zelenskyy said.
According to the president of Ukraine, the food price policy will be high.
"We can lose millions, tens of millions of tons of crops, which are already harvested and Russia is not yet releasing, and not letting in certain ships, they control the Black Sea. But we want to unblock these routes and be able to prevent russia from causing another crisis," Zelensky said. Zelensky said.
The President noted that after the energy crisis, which was this winter, there will be a food crisis.
"It will definitely happen, it's not 90%, not 95%, but it will be 100%, if we can't deliver the harvest to the European countries. Russia understands this very well, this is the cynicism of the situation. Not because of the war, but through the fact that they are hitting the railroads, hitting the bridges with missiles, knowing where the crossings are and how our goods go for export.
They just want to completely block the economy for our state," Zelensky said.
Martin Frick, a representative of the UN World Food Program, said that almost 4.5 million tons of grain are blocked at Ukrainian ports because of Russian aggression.
First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotskyy reported that the occupiers had removed hundreds of thousands of tons of grain from the occupied territories of Ukraine.
