The battle for Donbas remains Russia's main strategic focus. The occupiers plan to achieve their stated goal of controlling Donetsk and Luhansk regions, according to the latest information from the Great Britain's Ministry of Defense.

"The battle for Donbas remains Russia's main strategic focus for achieving its stated goal of securing control over the Donetsk and Luhansk regions," reads the statement.

It was noted that in the region "especially important" were the fights near Lysychansk and Sevierodonetsk, as the occupants tried to penetrate to the forefront from Izum to Slovyansk.

Due to Ukraine's strong opposition, the Russian territorial conquests were limited and were accompanied by significant losses for the Russian forces, the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain noted.
