During the two months of Russia's full-scale invasion, the Russian occupiers' daily bombardment of Ukraine's civilian infrastructure destroyed 17 pre-school educational institutions throughout the country. Oleksiy Dneprov, deputy head of the presidential office, said this at a briefing.
"For more than 2 months of the full-scale Russian invasion, more than 1.5 thousand educational institutions have been damaged by daily bombardment and shelling. 102 of them were completely destroyed. In particular, 518 preschool educational institutions were damaged. Of these, 17,707 institutions of general secondary, out-of-school and specialized education were completely destroyed. At that, more than 74 were completely destroyed", - stressed Dneprov.
He added that according to operational information, as of April 25, 6 establishments of professional technical education were destroyed, 79 were damaged.
In 2,581 pre-schools there have been introduced various forms of distance work with parents and children. And 345 institutions are already accepting children.
12,432 institutions of secondary education are working remotely. 133 institutions of secondary education using a mixed form of education. 24 institutions have started full-time education.
There are 319 institutions that are on vacation. In 612 institutions in regions where the situation remains tense, the educational process is suspended. 1,076 educational institutions are located in the temporarily occupied territory.
As of April 25, 3,676,958 students had started their studies. 86,965 internally displaced children joined general secondary education institutions at their place of temporary residence. Most of them are in the Lviv region.
623,642 pupils and 23,447 teachers of secondary education institutions went abroad. The educational process in the distance format in institutions of vocational education in 18 regions of Ukraine was completely renewed. The educational process has been partially restored in vocational schools in 7 regions.
We would like to add that on March 27 in Kiev reported the resumption of the educational process.
As noted, the purpose of distance learning during the war is not only the assimilation of new knowledge, but psychological support, communication. It should become a help for the child, not another stress and excitement - without negative grades and homework.
