President Volodymyr Zelensky invited French President Emmanuel Macron to Ukraine to understand that the war crimes committed by Russia are genocide. He said this in an interview with the French channel BFM TV.

"I don't know if Emmanuel formulated it strictly legally - whether it's genocide or not genocide. I have great faith that he will understand that it is genocide when he comes here. I invite him to come. So does every leader... As of today, I understand that many leaders in the world and people need to be here to fully appreciate, understand and determine something," Zelensky said.

Later, French Foreign Ministry Secretary of State Clément Bon stated that although there was no doubt about the war crimes committed by the Russian occupiers in Ukraine, the use of the term "genocide" was considered incorrect.
