European Commission promises to quickly consider the EU questionnaire for Ukraine, but they do not name a specific time frame

An official representative of the European Commission, Eric Mamer, has confirmed that the Ukrainian authorities submitted to Brussels the first part of the questionnaire with answers in connection with the country's intention to receive the status of a candidate state for EU accession.

"We are waiting for the answer to the second part of this questionnaire. After that we will work diligently to formulate a conclusion. But there is no specifically set deadline," the spokesman said Tuesday at a briefing in Brussels, according to UNN.

He added that the European Commission will try to work on this quickly and in the best possible way.

Asked about the difference between the two parts of the questionnaire, Mamer explained, "The first part deals with political and economic criteria. And the second part will deal with the application of the achievements of the European Union (the system of regulations, judicial decisions and other documents of legal importance).

The question when Brussels will receive the second part was readdressed by the spokesman of the EC to the Ukrainian authorities.
