As a result of the shelling by the Russian occupants today, April 18, two civilians were killed in the Basnaya district of Kharkiv, criminal proceedings have been opened, the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office reported.
"According to the investigation, on April 18, 2022 about 11:50 Russian occupants shelled the Osvinyanskiy district of the city of Kharkiv. The shells fell on the territory of playgrounds near residential buildings. As a result of the shelling, a man and a woman were killed," the prosecutor's office reported.
A number of residential buildings were also damaged.
Under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office a pre-trial investigation into the violation of laws and customs of war, involving intentional homicide (part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) has been launched. The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by the SBU Directorate in Kharkiv Region.
Recall that during the day on April 17 in the Kharkiv region due to enemy shelling 25 wounded, 9 dead among the civilians.
