The amount of charitable aid received for Ukraine from citizens and corporations from different parts of the world has reached almost $924 million and the funds continue to arrive, according to the Office of the President.
"The funds go mainly to the accounts of UN structures and international humanitarian organizations. And the latter in turn send them to help our refugees in different countries," says Andriy Ermak, head of the presidential office, head of the coordinating staff on humanitarian and social issues.
Most of the money came from charity providers in Great Britain (47%), Netherlands (almost 18%), Czech Republic (11%) and the USA (almost 8%).
Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Yulia Sokolovska noted that for 50 days 270 thousand tons of humanitarian aid were brought to Ukraine. Food was purchased from Ukrainian producers and food sets were completed for nearly 12 million Ukrainians.
As First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko noted, on the western border with Poland, Hungary, Romania, Moldova and Slovakia already in the first week there were logistic centers where international donors and partners send humanitarian aid.
The Lviv region has become Ukraine's largest humanitarian support hub, receiving 51% of aid shipments from abroad.
From humanitarian hubs located throughout the country, cargo is distributed to regional military administrations, charitable organizations, local self-government bodies, public organizations and volunteers, said Kirill Timoshenko, deputy head of the President's Office.
In addition, he said, using the help.gov.ua platform, people from all over the world fill out forms every day and send aid to Ukraine.
