The US embassy in Ukraine noted that the new $800m military aid package from the United States is not the last one, and there will be more to come. The embassy said this on its Twitter after the White House and the Pentagon announced new weapons for Ukraine.
The embassy published a quote from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's video message that "freedom should be armed better than tyranny," noting that the United States agrees with this statement.
"The amount and speed of U.S. defense assistance to Ukraine is unprecedented. Our new $800 million aid includes howitzers, hundreds of armored vehicles, nearly a dozen helicopters and 40,000 artillery shells. There will be more to come," the statement said.
We agree. The scope and speed of support to defense are unprecedented. Our new $800 million in security assistance includes howitzers, hundreds of armored vehicles, nearly a dozen helicopters, and 40,000 artillery rounds. And more will come. #SlavaUkraini. pic.twitter.com/hJiNaeD8sw
