The scandalous situation with the alleged refusal of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to visit Ukraine will be resolved through diplomatic channels. It will not affect the relations between the countries. This is reported by the UNN with reference to a briefing by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Kuleba.
"We are not interested in escalation, in the aggravation of bilateral relations. Therefore, I am convinced that this situation will be resolved through diplomatic channels. And there will be no damage to Ukrainian-German relations," he said.
According to him, Ukraine respects the institution of the German federal president and the scandal itself became possible only because of the leak of unverified information to the German media.
