The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces told about the operational situation on the fronts at the beginning of the 49th day of Russia's war against Ukraine. According to intelligence, the enemy continues to send so-called "volunteers" to Ukraine.

"According to available information, a battalion of about 400 people has been formed in the Leningrad region. It consists exclusively of servicemen with combat experience. They were sent to Ukraine to reinforce one of the units of the 42nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 58th Combined Arms Army," the message reads.
The General Staff also noted that the enemy does not stop rocket and bomb strikes on civilian infrastructure in the Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhya regions. The occupants conduct active aerial reconnaissance.
On the Siversky direction, it is possible to retain some units in the border areas of Kursk Oblast with Ukraine to conduct demonstration actions to deter our forces.
On the Slobozhansky direction the partial blockade and artillery shelling of the city of Kharkiv continues. In some temporarily occupied territories the enemy has resorted to the formation of units of the so-called "people's militia". "Appropriate work is being carried out on the implementation of these measures.
In the Donetsk and Tavria directions, the Russian enemy continued air strikes on Mariupol. It begins an offensive near the Azovstal metallurgical complex and the Seaport.
In the Yuzhno-Bugsk direction, the enemy is trying to capture individual settlements, but without success.
Over the past 24 hours the defenders of Ukraine repelled six enemy attacks, destroyed two vehicles and three enemy artillery systems in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
An Su-25 Russian enemy aircraft was shot down the day before by a group of the Air Force of the AFU. The enemy significantly reduced the use of aircraft due to weather conditions.
