Near Rubizhne in Luhansk region, Russian occupants once again hit a tanker with nitric acid. This was reported by the chairman of the Luhansk Regional State Administration Sergei Gaidai.
"Chemical attack again! At Rubizhne the orcs again hit the tanker with nitric acid! Urgent! Do not come out of shelters! If you are indoors - close the doors and windows!" - Gaidai reported.
He warned that nitric acid is dangerous when inhaled, swallowed and when it comes into contact with skin and mucous membranes.
"Acid vapors have an irritant effect on the respiratory tract. In mild poisonings, signs of bronchitis, mild bronchiolitis, dizziness, drowsiness appear; in severe poisonings, pulmonary edema occurs. Gas masks are used for protection against fumes and fog of nitric acid," said Gaidai.
He advised to prepare face masks moistened with soda solution.
"When the eyes are exposed locally, nitric acid causes severe damage with large necrosis of the cornea and conjunctiva, which leads to loss of vision," he noted.
In addition, Gaidai spoke about first aid.
"If nitric acid enters the eyes, it is necessary to rinse them with running water for 10-30 minutes. In case of contact with the skin - wash the affected surface with water, adding to it drinking soda, soap. If nitric acid is swallowed, gastric lavage with plenty of water is indicated. Watch the direction of the wind," Gaidai wrote.
